Ender's Game: The movie

Is the Ender's Game Movie dead? Well, not completely. It currently is not in pre-production at any studio. There isn't a director attached. So, don't go lining up for tickets any time soon. It's going to be years before its in theaters.

However, Orson Scott Card is still working on the script and hasn't given up wanting Ender on the big screen.

On his blog at Hatrack, OSC said in February of 2009:

"I'm finishing up the screenplay for the Ender's Game movie."

It's cool that Orson Scott Card is working on the script himself, but I just don't see how you could possibly make a movie out of Ender's Game. Good luck on trying to capture the Raw emotion that made the book the best Science Fiction novel ever to be written.

Dog Soldiers

I finally had the opportunity to watch Dog Soldiers a few nights ago. It wasn't exactly what I expected but none the less I was fucking impressed! The best werewolf movie to date by far. I'm not going to go into a deep speach about every aspect of the film because I don't want to ruin it for anybody who has yet to see it.
Not surprisingly the main concept of the film is borrowed from Aliens (most film concepts are borrowed from Aliens). A group of British soldiers seal themselves inside a house while flesh hungry werewolves try to break through their defenses to turn the soldiers into puppy chow.
The Humor is pretty good, even for a British film. My favorite line in the movie is spoken by Sean Pertwee who plays Sgt Wells. "We are now up against live, hostile targets. So, if Little Red Riding Hood should show up with a bazooka and a bad attitude, I expect you to chin the bitch."
My favorite scene is during the first ten minutes of the film when the soldiers are being chased through the woods at dusk by the werewolves. The bounding technique used in the film is very similar to the one we use in the U.S Army when breaking contact. Being a soldier, of course this is my favorite part.

Sadly a sequel was planned but has been scraped. the plot line was even more impressive than first film, picking up right where the movie left off. This movie is worth buying.

About me. My first blog.

I've been a Sci-Fi fan since I saw Aliens in 1986. I'm alsot a comic book whore of sorts. although over the years I have become very particular about which comics I buy. I collect action figures and love video games.
Don't mistake me for one of those over weight, 30 year old virgins that lives in his parents basement. I have the most beautiful wife in the world and the three most precious children this side of the galaxy. I play punk rock and am a soldier by trade. An infantryman and a scout. I am a combat veteran and have served for over ten years to date.
I write music about all things science fiction and will begin posting my songs sometime on the future. But first lets start out with a list. We all love list. everyone has them.

My top ten science fiction/ horror films. At least for today anyway.
1. Aliens- been an obsessed fan for 26 years.
